Once, then seconds
Print a pass
This is the entry it adds to monetization.json. On sync, the 0 becomes the real ID.
Careful with your game
Never doubles up
IDs already in your config are kept, and any item with the same name is reused. Run it every time you add something.
> node monetize.mjs sync monetization.json DoubleCash kept 2070181984 VIP reused 2070182231 CashPack created 3318840675 Gems500 created 3318840702 wrote src/shared/Config.luau 2 created, 1 reused, 1 kept
Shows you first
Add --dry and it lists exactly what it would create, with prices, before anything touches Roblox.
> node monetize.mjs sync monetization.json --dry would-create pass "2x Cash" 149 would-create product "Cash Pack" 49 kept pass "VIP" 2070182231 Dry run. Nothing was created on Roblox and your config was not changed.
Made for Windows
One command in PowerShell or cmd. No admin rights, no WSL. It runs the same on macOS and Linux.
PS C:\Users\you\roblox-monetize> node install.mjs selftest ok Skill installed: C:\Users\you\.claude\skills\roblox-monetize Next: create an Open Cloud API key, copy it, then run: node monetize.mjs set-key
Your key stays home
The Open Cloud key is read from your clipboard and saved in your user folder with owner-only access. It is only ever sent to apis.roblox.com.
> node monetize.mjs set-key Saved to C:\Users\you\.config\roblox-monetize\api-key > node monetize.mjs check 1234567890 Key works for universe 1234567890: 3 game passes, 2 developer products. key file: owner-only access sent only to apis.roblox.com

Copy this into Claude Code. It installs everything, then walks you through the API key without the key ever entering the chat.
Prefer doing it yourself? The three commands underneath do the same thing. You need Node.js 18 or newer and git.
Install the roblox-monetize Claude Code skill for me from https://github.com/rpatty-dev/roblox-monetize. Do these steps in order and stop to tell me if any of them fails: 1. Check that git and Node.js 18 or newer are installed (git --version, node -v). If either is missing, tell me exactly how to install it for my operating system and wait for me. 2. Clone the repo into a folder named roblox-monetize in my home directory (if it is already there, run git pull in it instead). 3. In that folder run node install.mjs --mcp. It must print "selftest ok" and "Skill installed". 4. Walk me through creating a Roblox Open Cloud API key, one step at a time: create.roblox.com > Open Cloud > API Keys > Create API Key; add "game-passes" with read + write and "developer-products" with read + write for my experience; set Accepted IP Addresses to 0.0.0.0/0; save and copy the key. Never ask me to paste the key into this chat. Once I have copied it, tell me to type this myself (with the ! at the start), using the real path on my machine: ! node "<home>/.claude/skills/roblox-monetize/scripts/monetize.mjs" set-key That reads the key from my clipboard and stores it privately. 5. Ask me for my universe ID (the number in my Creator Hub URL after /experiences/) and run the check command to prove the key works. 6. Tell me to restart Claude Code, then say "set up monetization for this game" inside my game project.
git clone https://github.com/rpatty-dev/roblox-monetize.git cd roblox-monetize node install.mjs
- Questions
- Will it overwrite IDs I already have?
- No. Any ID that is not zero is left alone, and an item whose name already exists on Roblox is reused instead of created again.
- Do I need an AI to use it?
- No. It is a plain Node script you can run by hand. With Claude Code you can also just say "add a VIP pass for 299" and it does the rest.
- Is my API key safe?
- It never leaves your computer except in requests to apis.roblox.com. Give it only game-passes and developer-products, read and write, for your own experience.
- Where do I find my universe ID?
- It is the number in your Creator Hub address after /experiences/. In Studio it is game.GameId. It is not the place ID.
- Why did my test purchase cost nothing?
- Purchases inside Studio are always free tests. Real Robux are only charged in the published game.
- What does it cost?
- Nothing. It is MIT licensed, has no dependencies and uses Roblox's official Open Cloud API.
